The Students

Nice Place Foundation caters for 150 girls annually. One-hundred of these girls go through the three-year ‘summer school’ programme while in boarding school. During their holidays, they come to the centre and go through the curriculum. The other 50 girls participate in a full-time version of the curriculum, over the course of 10 months. They do not attend boarding school due to various reasons.

The girls are selected in three ways:

  • Girls have gone through Alterative Rites of Passage (ARP) and have been selected as Miss ARP in their community
  • Girls have gone through the Nice Place Foundation rescue centre and meet the criteria
  • Girls have applied to be part of Nice Place Foundation and have been selected by the community advisory council

The final decision is made by the community advisory council.
