The Students

Nice Place Foundation caters for 150 girls annually. One-hundred of these girls go through the three-year ‘summer school’ programme while in boarding school. During their holidays, they come to the centre and go through the curriculum. The other 50 girls participate in a full-time version of the curriculum, over the course of 10 months. They do not attend boarding school due to various reasons.

The girls are selected in three ways:

Girls have gone through Alterative Rites of Passage (ARP) and have been selected as Miss ARP in their community
Girls have gone through the Nice Place Foundation rescue centre and meet the criteria
Girls have applied to be part of Nice Place Foundation and have been selected by the community advisory council

The final decision is made by the community advisory council.
